End User Licence Agreement
This is a translation for convenience. The binding version of this document is the Spanish one: the Spanish version. In case of discrepancy, the Spanish text prevails.
In one line: Aseptic is free for personal use — the app and the CLI, in full — and using it at work, or without the daily AI cap, needs a paid plan. This agreement covers the software; the subscription lives in the Terms and data handling in the Privacy Policy.
By installing, copying or using Aseptic (the “Software”) you agree to be bound by this
agreement. If you do not agree, do not install or use it. This same text ships as the
LICENSE file with every copy of the Software.
1. Definitions
- Licensor: Juan García Valero, Spanish tax ID [NIF], owner of the rights in the Software.
- Software: Aseptic — the desktop application, the
asepticCLI, the MCP server, the copilot, their resources and documentation — as distributed by the Licensor. - Personal use: use by a natural person for their own purposes, learning, evaluation or development, that is not professional use.
- Professional use: any use by or for the benefit of a company, a self-employed professional in the course of their business, a public body or any other organisation, or any use aimed at commercial advantage or economic compensation, direct or indirect. It includes use by employees or contractors in the course of their work.
- Plan: the tier contracted — Free, Pro or Team — as published on the pricing page.
- AI surfaces: the MCP server and the copilot built into the Software.
2. What you are granted
2.1 Free plan — personal use, no cost. A worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to install and use the Software for personal use.
It includes the complete Software to drive by hand: the desktop application and the
aseptic CLI, with no feature held back, including use in continuous integration. It also
includes a daily allowance of calls to the AI surfaces, whose volume is published on the
pricing page and may be adjusted.
2.2 Professional use — requires a paid plan. An active Pro or Team plan, for each person using it. The licence is per named user and cannot be shared between people.
2.3 Uncapped AI surfaces — require a paid plan. Once the free daily allowance is spent.
2.4 The use of the Software is licensed, not sold. The Licensor retains every right not expressly granted.
2.5 How each limit is enforced. The AI surface limit is enforced technically. The professional-use limit is contractual: the Software does not inspect your environment to work out where you work, and does not block you over it. This is stated plainly because an obligation the product does not prevent you from breaking is still an obligation, and breaking it terminates this agreement (§11).
3. What you may not do
Unless the law mandatorily allows it or the Licensor authorises it in writing:
- Use the Software professionally without the paid plan of §2.2.
- Sell, rent, sublicense, lend or redistribute the Software.
- Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it, except to the extent mandatorily permitted by law (for example interoperability acts under art. 100.5 of the Spanish Intellectual Property Act).
- Circumvent, disable or tamper with licence, quota or plan verification mechanisms.
- Remove or alter proprietary notices, trade marks or attributions.
- Use the Software in breach of applicable law — including export control and sanctions rules — or of third-party rights.
4. Intellectual property
The Software and all intellectual property rights in it are and remain the Licensor’s. This agreement transfers no ownership in the Software or its source code, which is not distributed and remains closed.
Your configuration is yours. Scenarios, manifests, catalogues and any content you create with the Software belong to you. The Licensor acquires no rights over them merely because you built them with this tool.
5. Third-party components
The Software bundles open source components, each under its own licence, listed in the
THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES file shipped with it. Where they conflict, each component’s licence
prevails over this agreement as to that component.
6. AI providers: your key, your contract
The copilot runs on the API key of the AI provider you choose and configure. Conversations travel from your machine to that provider without passing through our infrastructure: we do not broker them, do not store them and cannot read them.
Therefore: that processing is governed by your contract with that provider; the cost of those calls is yours to bear with them; and the Licensor is not responsible for their availability, content or accuracy. Language model answers can be wrong — review them before acting on them, especially when they propose running commands.
7. Beta, updates and security support
7.1 The Software is in beta: it may contain errors, behave unstably or change without notice. Continuity, forward compatibility and data preservation between versions are not guaranteed.
7.2 The Software checks for new versions and may install them automatically. You can turn that off in settings; doing so means going without security fixes, and that is your call.
7.3 Security support period. Vulnerabilities reported under the security policy are fixed, and security support for the current version line is maintained for at least twelve months from the first stable release, in line with Regulation (EU) 2024/2847.
8. Data and diagnostics
8.1 Error diagnostics are off until you turn them on. On first launch you are
asked explicitly and nothing is sent by default. You can change your mind at any time in
settings or with aseptic telemetry on|off.
8.2 These never leave your machine, diagnostics on or off: your services’ code, their logs and output, your database contents, your credentials and secrets, and the content of your copilot conversations.
8.3 The detail is in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of this agreement by reference.
9. No warranty
The Software is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. It is not warranted to be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, nor that its results will be correct or reliable. You assume the risk arising from its use.
None of this excludes warranties that cannot be excluded by law towards consumers, including the statutory conformity guarantee for digital content and services.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Licensor is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for loss of data, profits, goodwill or business interruption, arising from the use or inability to use the Software.
In any event, total liability will not exceed the amount you paid in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim — zero, on the Free plan.
This does not exclude liability for wilful misconduct, gross negligence, personal injury, or anything else that cannot be limited by law.
Specific warning. Aseptic starts, stops and configures processes on your machine, and may rewrite configuration files in your projects. Keep your work under version control before letting any tool — this one included — modify it.
11. Term and termination
This agreement runs until terminated, and terminates automatically if you breach any of its conditions. On termination you must stop using the Software and uninstall it. Sections 3 to 6 and 9 to 14 survive.
12. Consumers
If you contract as a consumer you have fourteen calendar days to withdraw without giving reasons, under the refund policy. We do not ask you to waive that right in order to start using the product immediately.
Nothing here limits the mandatory rights your country’s consumer law gives you.
13. Assignment
You may not assign this agreement without written authorisation. The Licensor may assign it, together with ownership of the Software, to a company in which he is a shareholder and which continues to operate the product, giving reasonable prior notice; the assignment will not alter your rights or the terms you contracted.
14. Governing law
Spanish law. Without prejudice to the mandatory rights of consumers — who may sue and be sued in the courts of their own domicile — the parties submit to the courts of the Licensor’s domicile.
